Established in 1995, Temple Decor has consistently been breaking new ground and setting the standards for performance space dressing, transforming venues with Ultra Violet décor, and contributing to new approaches and techniques for the décor industry.

Amongst the many firsts for the company was winning the silver award for “Set Designer of the year” at the Live! Awards 2000 (coming second to Mark Fisher), being the first touring décor company of its kind on the successful 1999 tour with Paul Okenfold, and becoming one of the trademarks of Womad (World Of Music Arts and Dance), attending all their festivals across Europe.

Specialising in the art of transmogrification (changing an environment as if by magic), we are quick in both installation and in the get out; not leaving a trace of ever having been there. Any sized venue can be turned into a UVisual experience, from a standard marquee to the largest conference, Big top, or sports auditorium.

Inspired by the Whirly-gig decor provided for the Womad festival in July 1994, the Temple Décor story started the following September, when Tim Carroll draped the first “Temple Ball” dance night in Reading.

Over the next nine months, “Temple Ball” continued to stage some exciting innovative events, with the name for the décor department changing from “Transpherix” to “On the Case” (the name of an organic wine club, running simultaneously) and eventually ending up being called simply “Temple Décor”.

It was at the last Temple Ball in early June 1995 that Womad production were invited to come and have a look at what we could do. They were willing to try us out, and so the following Womad festival in July 1995, saw what is now considered to be the official birth of Temple Décor.

It was at this event where we recognised our identity - that of being a company specialising in Ultra Violet décor for large-scale events. Since that time Temple Décor has progressed in leaps and bounds and has since become the only décor company of its kind in Europe and (as far as we know) the world!
